Affiliated Clubs

All sports clubs have a duty of care responsibility to ensure anything they do does not cause injury or financial loss to others or damage to their property. If they do cause injury, financial loss or damage, the officers and officials of the club could find themselves legally liable to pay compensation.

TO PROTECT ITS OFFICERS AND OFFICIALS, ANY CLUB AFFILATED TO TRIATHLON ENGLAND, TRIATHLON SCOTLAND, OR WELSH TRIATHLON IS ENTITLED TO THE FOLLOWING INSURANCE PROTECTION:

  • Public Liability: £15m Limit of Indemnity, in the event if an accidental injury to another person (who could be one of your members!)

  • Employers Liability: £10m Limit of Indemnity, in the event of an injury to one of your employees.

  • Directors and Officers: £2m Limit of Indemnity, in the event of a breach of duty, for example in relation to the mismanagement of the clubs finances or corporate manslaughter

Please note there is a £500 policy excess – so be careful in everything you do, in order to avoid having to pay it!
